Can Comics Get Fashionable With Everyday Cosplay?
It seems like lately superhero-inspired clothing for women has been put in a pretty polarizing position. Fans can either pick up affordable logo tees and the like, or splurge for overpriced fashionista fare. No one can fault a publisher like DC for going to top designers, but even with Karl Lagerfeld involved I doubt many people will shell out six hundred bucks for unrecognizable “Green Lantern” bedazzled gloves Even more recently, DC has introduced the nOir line of DC jewelry , also “inspired” by superheroes and also ready to take a chunk out of the monthly rent money. These high fashion designs, whether they’re good or bad, all seem to embrace superhero kitsch. Chunky jewelry, haphazardly sewn stars, lots of glitter; these things are over the top, and they drag their prices with them. Is there a possibility, though, of dialing down both the price and the concept of superhero costumes until they come into the reach of plebeians?

Fashion 2.0 | Top 10 Fashion Films of the Season
. H&M Designer Collaboration Teasers (series) H&M developed a brilliant short video teaser campaign to get consumers excited for the launch of their annual designer collaboration. Featuring stereotypical designer types like a man in a skinny dark suit and a woman in an extreme blouse and chunky jewelry, the series of black-and-white videos engaged viewers in a collective guessing game on the identity of the yet unannounced designer, dropping a sequence of clues specifically designed to lead fashion-savvy viewers one way, then another. Discussion raged on YouTube, spilled onto Twitter and sparked countless posts in the fashion blogosphere that named Carolina Herrera and Thomas Maier of Bottega Veneta among suspected collaborators, before the identity of the real designer was revealed to be Alber Elbaz of Lanvin. Overall, we thought this was a fun and highly effective use of the short video format that was intelligently conceived to generate positive conversation across the social web. Bravo.

Chris Benz Spring 2012
NEW YORK Sept 26,2011 /FW/-If one collection captured all of next seasons hottest trend’s; it was that of Chris Benz Spring 2012. Print, layering, color, color, and more color! The presentation was a burst of fresh excitement! The young designer takes inspiration from Andy Warhol’s superstars gone to Coney Island with a little splash of candy kids. The fit was loose and slouchy but still very neat. Hemlines dropped on straight skirts and dresses. Cropped pencil pants featured a variety of bright prints and were worn with elongated blouses. Solid wide leg drawstrings were worn with easy to slip on tops and cropped printed blazers. The accessory collaboration was on point! Models were rocking Alejandro Ingelmo’s neon high top kicks, wedge sandals and watches. The modern take on vintage fashion was the perfect opportunity for chunky jewelry by The Woods and the shades of Selima Optique. It takes a special kind of clever pull off a, modern lady-like Andy Warhol mima.

Bananas! Rachel Zoe’s Clothing Line Doesn’t Fit How You’d Expect (We Tried It On)
Gorgeous details, though, and a really awesome tie waist. I felt like RZ herself in it. $575 at Shopbop Panther Maxi dresse s C These were definitely oversized. While Gypsy-like in person, when Charlotte put hers on, it was actually cool, and we could see how styling with lots of amazing, chunky jewelry would really elevate the look. That said, it was SO. LONG. So unless you’re wearing hooker boots every day, at this point you should employ a live-in tailor or skip it. $495 at Shopbop Coats C The coats were a little snug on a larger bust. I usually wear a size 2 or 4 in coats because most designers cut theirs a little big, but these were definitely made for West Coast girls who don’t have to pile wooly mammoth sweaters under their coats. Go up a size. Sophia Chain military coat, $495 at Saks What’s selling out

JC Penney Spring 2011 Preview
Since JC Penney has partnered with Charlotte Ronson , Olsenboye, and Nicole Miller, their clothing section has become quite, well, eclectic. We loved this preview of the spring 2011 collection because it was girlie, feminine, sophisticated, casual, chic, and cool. It was the kind of collection that had something for everyone: Olsenboye pieces were youthful with mature elements; Nicole Miller pieces offered chic sophisticated dresses along with sexy shoes and bold chunky jewelry; and Charlotte Ronson pieces were downtown girl meets uptown girl. JCP’s resident brands such as Worthington offered just as many stylish pieces. We loved the myriad number of printed dresses that flooded the collection, and there was a super chic zebra printed dress that screamed wear me to the office, while a tie dye maxi dress gave off a bohemian hippy vibe.
